Which turkey should I use?

  • Featured Posts, Kitchen Hint, Video

We get asked by operators frequently about which turkey product they should consider.  Well, that’s a big question!

Of course, it depends on what you’re trying to accomplish.  A sandwich?  Appetizer?  Carved entrée?

Here’s a quick video on how to choose the best turkey for the purpose from Mark Staub of Foster Farms who works with operators in the Pacific Northwest.  A summary:

  • 6462:  Value turkey perfect for thin slicing and small dicing.
  • 6032:  Versatile for sandwiches, salad toppings and entrée toppings.
  • 6707:  Taste and texture like cooking turkey on premises.  Great for carving and premium sandwiches.
