Ingredients

TURKEY
TOMATO SAUCE
1/8 tbsp.
Olive oil
1/2 oz.
Onion
1/8 clove
Garlic, minced
1 3/4 oz.
Roma tomato, chopped
1/8 tsp.
Basil, dried
1/8 tsp
Oregano, dried
1/8 tsp.
Red chili flakes
1/8 tsp.
Salt
BREAD & CHEESE
1 slice
Provolone cheese, sliced
1 4-inch square
French bread, toasted
GARNISH & SEASONINGS
1/8 tsp.
Salt
1/2 tsp.
Neutral oil
1 tsp.
Pepperoncini, sliced
Directions
STEP 1
For tomato sauce: Heat the oil in a 2 quart saucepan. Add the onion and garlic. Cook 5 minutes until softened. Add the tomatoes, basil, oregano, chili flakes and salt. Cook for 20 minutes.
STEP 2
To pan fry, pour 1/2 teaspoon of oil in saute pan or on flat top.
STEP 3
Season turkey burger with salt. Grill about 4 minutes. Turn burger and grill 3 minutes.
STEP 4
Place the cheese slice on the burger under broiler and cook one minute more. 5. Split the bread in half. Place the turkey burger on the bottom half of the bread, pour tomato sauce over and sprinkle with pepperoncini.
STEP 5
Place top of bun on pepperoncini.
