Mother’s Day remains the busiest holiday for many restaurants. And while buffets seemingly rule the day, the National Restaurant Association says 62 percent of mom’s day celebrations feature casual dining versus just 15 percent with buffets.
Dinner also is the favorite time for celebrating — not brunch!
This got us thinking that some restaurants might want to re-invent their Mother’s Day promotions this year on Sunday, May 13:
- Let mom enjoy Thanksgiving dinner. Mom is often the main cook during the Thanksgiving holiday and probably doesn’t get to relax much. So, make Mother’s Day a Thanksgiving Day for her! After all, isn’t giving thanks what Mother’s Day is all about? She’ll just love to sit back and relax to a warm, scrumptious turkey dinner with all the fixings — a delicious change from the usual mom’s day menu. Here are some turkey cooking hints.
- Forget the free dessert. Give each mom a small gift certificate she can use during her next visit. Undoubtedly, she’ll bring a friend or two — and you’ll build repeat business.
- Share a chuckle. The more fun people have the more they eat and drink! Leave conversation starters on the table to keep everybody chatting about why moms are the bomb! We even created this downloadable tabletop promo that you can place around the table to get the fun and laughter started!
